Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to take ownership of a dynamic and varied finance function? Reed Accountancy are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Finance Officer to join an established team and play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of a well-established and growing business.As Finance Officer, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making. You’ll oversee all core finance functions, from ledger management and payroll to reporting and compliance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial operations including sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and credit control.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budget vs actual reports, and year-end trial balances.

  • Handle payroll processing, pension contributions, and statutory payments (PAYE, NI, RTI).

  • Ensure compliance with VAT, tax regulations, and auto-enrolment requirements.

  • Produce high-quality financial reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts and tax submissions.

  • Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, stock, and petty cash.

  • Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • AAT qualified or working towards a relevant finance qualification (desirable).
