Reed Finance are working with a well-established manufacturing business seeking a diligent and commercially minded Management Accountant to support the finance function. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost control.
As the Management Accountant you will:
- Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.
- Manage BOM setup, product costing, and standard costing with variance reporting.
- Deliver daily/weekly reports on sales, material, and labour variances.
- Share variance analysis with management and collaborate across departments.
- Identify and recommend ways to improve margins.
- Contribute to annual budgets and forecasts.
- Support strategic planning and capex decisions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements.
- Maintain a strong finance team structure and reporting coverage.
- Propose development plans aligned with leadership goals.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, and accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software
