Zenith People are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to work at its client site in Teesside. Responsible for creating and implementing strategic sales plans and building and maintaining relationships with key customers.
To effectively manage the Sales team in identifying opportunities to drive sales performance and exceed revenue and margin targets; to actively seek and act upon new sales opportunities. As well as managing the Sales Team, the role involves
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term sales forecasts that achieve and wherever possible exceeds Company strategy targets, as agreed with the Sales team, Departmental Managers and Managing Director
• Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking and working in collaboration with product engineering and customers.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and market dynamics to identify opportunities for growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, purchasing, project and finance to ensure successful project delivery.
• Attend the monthly Management Meeting to present performance against targets results, including activity and opportunities on behalf of the Sales team highlighting any issues and taking proactive measures to fill margin gaps
• Ensure good health and safety practices are adopted within the Sales team to minimise the risk of injury to colleagues and visitors or damage to equipment and buildings.
• Organisation and performance-management, including development, of all staff within the Sales team to ensure the most efficient use of resources
• Develop a culture of involving the Team in Practical Problem Solving and continuous improvement
• Attend customer sites to promote and sell Company products to new and existing customers including Company hospitality outside of working hours.
• Representing the company at industry events, trade shows and conferences to promote the company’s products, services and image.
• Deal proactively with enquiries, providing quotes and negotiate sales • Maintain a good working and technical knowledge of all Company products
• Coordinate internal/external support for major sales activity and presentations
• Act and be visible internally and externally as customers’ main interface for the business activity to ensure that we understand customers’ business structure, strategy and requirements and to facilitate demand/supply interlock
• Support the Engineering Department internally/externally on current business when commercial liaison is required with customers
• Support European sales development activity where required
Qualifications/Experience Essential:
• A degree (or equivalent) in business, economics or finance
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Senior Business Development position
• Experience of working at this level or similar industry
