Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for a Document Controller/Project Administrator on a 4-year fixed-term contract (FTC) through the full project lifecycle of a brand-new Energy from Waste Power Station in Grangetown, Redcar.

The vital Document Controller / Project Administrator comes with a basic salary of 37,500 + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Deputy Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee and uphold document control standards and procedures throughout the project.
  • Contribute to the setup, configuration, and implementation of the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Manage and maintain the PIRS and Aconex DMS to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits of the DMS to verify version control and document completeness.
  • Generate periodic reports on document progress, submissions, and approval status.
  • Provide support to project teams in organising folder structures, applying naming conventions, and maintaining metadata consistency.
  • Facilitate the timely submission, review, and approval of project documents across various stakeholders.
  • Oversee the efficient transfer of documents from the DMS to the IMS.
  • Assist in compiling and delivering final project documentation to operations teams.
  • Identify and implement improvements to document management processes.
  • Liaise with IT or DMS support teams for troubleshooting, upgrades, or configuration changes.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and quality documentation requirements.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Ideally a relevant qualification in document management, administration or project management
  • A professional certificate in document contract will be advantageous



Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge

The Document Controller role would suit someone who has:

  • Project document management experience - working on large scale infrastructure projects will be advantageous
  • Experience working with document management systems and integrated management systems
  • Good stakeholder management working with various teams and sub-contractors involved
  • Good awareness of health and safety in the workplace
