Contract MOT Tester – County Council Fleet Workshop
Location: Middlesbrough
Rate: £32.00 per hour (Umbrella/Ltd)
Contract Length: 2 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37–40 hours per week
The Role:
We’re recruiting on behalf of a County Council Fleet Services Department for an experienced MOT Tester to join their professional workshop team. You’ll be carrying out MOT inspections on a range of council vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and maintaining the highest levels of safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations.
- Identify and report vehicle defects accurately.
- Carry out minor repairs and adjustments when required.
- Ensure all documentation and records are completed correctly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
Requirements:
- Valid MOT Tester Licence (Class 4 & 7 essential)
- Minimum of 2 years’ recorded testing experience
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
