Job Title: Caretaker - Special Educational Needs (SEN) SchoolLocation: MiddlesbroughStart Date: ASAPHours: Full-time, 37 hours per weekAbout the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to join a vibrant all-age (4-19) special school in Middlesbrough. This institution supports students with a range of learning difficulties, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Complex Learning Disabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for both students and staff.Key Responsibilities:
- Opening and securing the school premises daily
- Conducting regular health and safety checks and routine maintenance
- Performing general porterage duties and supporting hydrotherapy pool maintenance
- Coordinating with contractors and cleaning staff
- Managing access for school transport and ensuring site security
- Assisting the Site Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s facilities
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a school environment or a strong background in maintenance
- Experience in a trade or building maintenance role
- Professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Has an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) - assistance provided if needed
