Smart Education is looking to recruit a resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the vibrant and committed team in an alternative SEN provision based In the Middlesbrough area. You'll be working as a Teaching Assistant in a specialist setting with students aged 11–16 who have a range of additional needs, including SEMH, MLD, ADHD, and BESD.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour in a nurturing, structured environment
  • Helping learners grow in confidence, independence, and life skills
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to deliver targeted support

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced working with SEN students in a school, PRU, or alternative provision
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • 6+ months of relevant experience
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (Child or Child & Adult Workforce), or willingness to apply
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with Teachers, Pastoral teams, SENDco’s and other external agencies to implement support strategies
