I'm recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to join a high-performing engineering team at a business based in Middlesbrough.

The company manufactures popular party foods like bhajis, samosas, onion rings, and spring rolls, this is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and drive for continuous improvement in a role where your impact will be both visible and valued.

What You'll Do:

As Engineering Team Leader, you'll:

  • Maintain, develop and improve plant machinery and services.
  • Lead by example in responding quickly and efficiently to breakdowns.
  • Work on PLC and HMI-controlled production equipment, experience in this area is highly desirable.
  • Take a proactive approach to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and project improvement schemes.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed to the highest Health & Safety and Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Carry out fault finding, inspections, installations, and servicing.
  • Work with electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (wire & belt), etc.
  • Support training and development within the team.
  • Be actively involved in improvement initiatives across the site.

What You Need:

  • A proven track record in engineering with an electrical bias.
  • Solid experience in fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
  • A team player with the confidence to work independently when needed.
