Site Manager

Calibre Search are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor a concrete base and foundations scheme
They are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in civils and concrete construction to oversee the installation of reinforced concrete bases and associated works on a high-risk gas site.
This role will suit a hands-on, safety-conscious Site Manager with proven experience managing civil engineering projects in hazardous or high-compliance environments such as gas, petrochemical, or energy facilities.

The Role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the safe planning, coordination, and delivery of concrete works on site.
You will manage all day-to-day site activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, quality requirements, and client procedures. Working closely with engineering and safety teams, you'll ensure all operations meet the demanding standards expected within high-risk gas environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise construction of reinforced concrete bases, plinths, and associated civil works.
• Ensure full compliance with site-specific gas safety protocols, including permit-to-work systems, confined space, and hot work procedures.
• Coordinate and control all site operations, including subcontractors, materials, plant, and logistics.
• Maintain and promote a robust health, safety and environmental culture across all site activities.
• Prepare, review and implement RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Oversee site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
• Monitor quality of workmanship, ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and inspection test plans.
• Liaise closely with the client, safety representatives, and project management team.
• Maintain site documentation, progress reports, and ensure accurate record keeping.
• Drive programme delivery and manage resources to achieve key milestones.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or concrete construction environments.
• Strong background in reinforced concrete works, including shuttering, rebar, and formwork.
• Excellent knowledge of site safety, compliance, and permit-to-work systems.
• SMSTS certification (essential).
• CSCS Gold or Black Card (essential).
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
