Talent STEM have partnered with a leading organisation in the chemical processing sector who are seeking a dedicated QC and Technical Chemist to join its quality control team at a modern facility. This role suits a meticulous professional with a chemistry background, committed to upholding product quality in a regulated environment while prioritising laboratory safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform sampling and analytical testing of incoming materials, in-process streams, and outgoing products, ensuring adherence to chemical specifications.

- Keep precise records of all testing activities and issue Certificates of Analysis for products.

- Conduct daily checks and maintenance of laboratory equipment, such as balances and colourimeters, following calibration schedules.

- Maintain laboratory compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures, ensuring proper PPE use, incident reporting, and high housekeeping standards.

- Label, log, and analyse samples per company work instructions, reporting any issues to the QC Manager.

- Assist with inventory management through weekly stock checks and laboratory supply orders.

- Certify product dispatch notes, verifying quality approval against product specifications.

Candidate Requirements

- Degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline, with practical experience in analytical testing within a GMP-regulated setting.

- Thorough understanding of laboratory safety and HSE compliance, dedicated to maintaining a tidy and organised workspace.

- Skilled in using laboratory equipment and performing accurate analytical tests, with experience in GC or similar instruments being a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities for effective record-keeping and sample management.

- Capable of working independently and as part of a quality-driven team.

- Familiarity with quality management systems and work instructions in regulated environments is preferred.
