Talent STEM is supporting a UK-based chemical processing and resource recovery business in their search for a Chemical Process Operator to join their operations team at a specialist facility. The site treats, recovers and manufactures chemical materials at laboratory, pilot and commercial scale.

 

The business operates to high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality, supported by an experienced technical workforce and ongoing investment in plant and equipment.

 

This is a full-time, on-site shift role operating on a rotating day/night pattern.

 

Shift Pattern

- 42 hours per week

- 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, followed by 4 days off

- Shift hours: 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am

 

The Role

The Chemical Process Operator is responsible for safely operating chemical processing plant in line with approved manufacturing, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Operate plant according to process instructions

- Monitor production and respond to abnormal conditions, escalating when required

- Complete batch records and storage logs in line with good documentation practice

- Carry out in-process sampling and basic product analysis

- Prevent cross-contamination during processing

- Monitor equipment condition and report faults

- Report accidents, hazards and near misses

- Support loading, unloading and material storage activities when required

 

Experience and Qualifications

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject

- Experience in a chemical, process or manufacturing environment

- Understanding of chemical processes and plant operation

- Ability to follow written instructions

- Team-focused and flexible approach

- Strong commitment to safety, quality and PPE compliance

- Right to work in the UK is required (no visa sponsorship)
