Production Administrator Position Overview
My client are a leading provider of sub-contract manufacturing services, based in Midhurst, West Sussex. For over 34 years, they have been delivering top-quality services to a diverse range of manufacturers in industries including Medical Devices, Cosmetics, Aerospace, and Automotive.
To support their expanding business, they are currently recruiting for a Production Administrator. This role is integral to the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the company.

Your role will be crucial in maintaining the production systems, promoting quality, and driving continual improvement within the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with the management team to plan production based on customer order forecasts and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Raise production work orders in alignment with customer orders and maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, inventory usage, and quality control documentation.
- Update inventory levels, ensuring materials and components are available for production as required.
- Perform general administrative duties, including welcoming customers and suppliers, and facilitating effective communication with both.
- Act as a point of contact for customers regarding production schedules, order status, and specific requirements or changes.
- Facilitate the induction process for new personnel, ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Facilitate daily production meetings with key personnel, ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards.
- Produce service and customer-specific quotations by understanding the full scope of our manufacturing processes, costs, and customer requirements.
- Support the management team in performing cost analysis and margin calculations for new and existing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas where production efficiency and quality can be enhanced.
- Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes, ensuring clarity and consistency across the team.
Production Administrator Position Requirements
- Strong administrative skills with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
- Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems is essential.
- Demonstrates efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt and multi-task.
- Possesses a positive, friendly attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work and the ability to work independently within deadlines.
- A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Production Administrator Position Remuneration
- Competitive Salary: 25,000 - 35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
