We are looking for an experienced, adaptable, and empathetic Teacher to deliver 1:1 off-site educational provision in the Millom area, supported by a Teaching Assistant. This is a highly rewarding role working with a young person who requires education in a setting outside of mainstream school.

About the Role:

This unique opportunity involves working in a calm, nurturing off-site environment where your teaching will be tailored to meet the individual needs of one student. You'll be supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant, creating a small, consistent team to help the learner engage, progress, and thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons across a modified curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Teaching Assistant to provide consistent, high-quality 1:1 support.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the learner, promoting confidence and motivation.
  • Monitor and assess progress, maintaining clear records and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and personal development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent).
  • Experience working in alternative provision, SEN, SEMH, or 1:1 tuition (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching.
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient nature.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
