Butler Rose is supporting an Accountancy Regulatory body with securing a qualified accountant to work within their investigations department as a Tax & General Accounting Investigations Officer. Ideally our client is looking for a technical accounting professional with experience in general accounting duties and tax accountancy work performed by accountancy firms, this role will ideally suit an individual operating at a Client Manager / Senior Manager / Associate Director level

Upholding the standards of the accounting profession is the main responsibility of this unique position. As a seasoned accountant, you will draw on all of your accounting expertise as you examine a caseload of fresh and old cases for any potential misconduct by accountancy professionals.

The job and team are fantastic because no two days are alike, thorough training is offered, and everyone helps one another with accounting cases. You'll need to have a strong character that can balance the facts and an inquisitive persona who is constantly searching for the pieces of knowledge needed to finish the puzzle

Our client offers a fantastic work / life balance with a 35hr working week, this role is hybrid, so travel into the office twice a week is expected for meetings. Person Spec:

Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, ICAS, ATT, CTA, or similar with experience working within practice in a general accounting/tax role at supervisory level. Applicants with industry experience will also be considered if they have broad bookkeeping / tax experience.
