Senior Development Control Engineer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Highways Engineer to join a Council in the Home Counties in delivering high-quality highway and transport infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
路Develop technical solutions, manage design and construction stages, and ensure projects meet statutory requirements, Council standards, and safety regulations.
路Review and approve designs under Sections 38 and 278.
路Coordinate across engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless project delivery.
路Oversee consultants and junior staff, providing guidance and supervision.
路Ensure compliance with DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, and other relevant standards.
路Liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
路Monitor project performance, risks, and compliance throughout delivery.
Requirements:
路Proven experience in UK highway design and maintenance.
路Strong knowledge of relevant design standards and highway adoption processes.
路Experience with surface water drainage and SuDS principles.
路Ability to lead projects, supervise staff, and manage multiple workstreams.
路Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
