JOB TITLE: Door Technician JOB LOCATION: Milton KeynesSALARY: £38,000 (£18.27ph) OT: 1.5x Weekdays (£27.40ph)2x Weekends (£36.54ph) HOURS PER WEEK: minimum 40 hours per weekSHIFTS: DaysSHIFT DAYS: Monday to FridaySTART DATE: ASAPWhat's in it for you? * Great take home pay, and good hours.* Opportunity to work overtime. * Extended contract. * Free on-site parking.* Strong order book of work.Position Summary: The role is carrying out Mechanical overhaul and refurbishment of rolling stock doors.The position is based on in a safety critical depot and all applicants would be expected to complete the following:* Removal of vehicle doors* Refitting and maintenance of Vehicle doors* Refitting, Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc * Work from written instruction (VMI)* Work from Mechanical Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements * Replacing door components to correspond to engineering drawings * Routine fleet checks ensuring that the Fleet is safely maintained* Work flexibly with a maintenance teamPerson Profile:You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative. Attitude and enthusiasm is key for this role as those that display reliability, technical ability and motivation may be asked to stay on in the long-term. Candidates from the following background will be considered:* HGV Technicians/PSV Fitters* RAF, REME, Army, Navy* Plant Maintenance * Engineering Services Maintenance * Rail* Heavy Mechanical EngineeringAn NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline is required for this positionExperience fitting the following door types is desirable: Westinghouse, IFE or Faiveley.Ideal applicants would have had some Rolling Stock Door fitting experience. Also due to the location of the work candidates must have their own transport.Please note, all candidates must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol screening and medical exam before being offered the role.
