We are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs designed to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work directly with students, both one-on-one and in small groups, to reinforce learning and support their educational and social development.
  • Prepare classroom materials and resources as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Monitor and support the progress of students, reporting observations to the classroom teacher.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in review meetings.
  • Help manage student behaviour in the classroom and other school areas.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within SEN.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and strategies to support their educational journey.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to working with children.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
