Facilities Engineer - Semi-Skilled Factory Maintenance (FMCG)
Location: Commutable from Bedford, Milton Keynes, Luton, Dunstable, Northampton, Brackley
Contract: 3-week contract (potential to extend)
Rate:£20.00-£22.00 an hour PAYE of £25-£30.00 outside IR 35
Hours: MOnday to Friday days 8-4pm

The Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to support general maintenance within a busy FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) factory. Working alongside the Site or Facilities Manager, you'll carry out essential maintenance tasks to help keep the production areas running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
This role is suited to a hands-on, semi-skilled individual with experience in a factory maintenance or facilities support role within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
·Carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across factory and site facilities, including:
oBasic electrical and mechanical fixes (e.g. replacing lights, fuses, or worn components)
oMinor plumbing (e.g. fixing leaks, unblocking drains)
oPainting and decorating in production and welfare areas
oMoving, repairing, or assembling factory fixtures such as workbenches, racking, or shelving
oSupporting machinery or equipment relocations
·Ensuring safe use of hand and power tools during all tasks
·Responding to maintenance issues quickly to minimise disruption to production
·Supporting the hygiene and safety standards expected in an FMCG environment
·Working flexibly across shifts, and being available for weekend or out-of-hours tasks if required

What We're Looking For:
·Experience working in a factory, FMCG, or industrial environment
·General maintenance skills, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and basic DIY
·A solid understanding of health & safety protocols in production settings
·Able to work on your own initiative and handle varied tasks with minimal supervision
·Team player with good communication skills
·Physically fit - capable of manual handling (up to 25kg)

Desirable Skills:
·Basic trade qualifications (e.g. electrical or mechanical NVQs, 18th Edition)
·Previous experience in food, beverage, or consumer goods manufacturing
·Familiarity with permit-to-work systems or planned maintenance procedures
