Finance Analyst - FMCG / RetailMilton Keynes
We're working with a growing FMCG / retail business in Milton Keynes to recruit a commercially-minded Finance Analyst to join their financial planning & analysis team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the numbers, delivering insight, and supporting business decisions - while also being involved in the core month-end processes.
What you'll do:
- Support the month-end close process, including journal postings, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide detailed sales and margin analysis across key product categories and customer channels
- Business partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge assumptions
- Track and analyse KPIs and support weekly trading reports
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting cycles
- Perform variance analysis against forecast, budget, and prior year, with commentary
- Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Work closely with commercial teams to understand promotional performance and stock movement trends
What you'll need:
- Experience in a similar finance role, ideally within the FMCG or retail sector
- Part-qualified or finalist (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or with demonstrable experience in similar roles
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
- Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and inquisitive mindset
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) would be an advantage
