Are you a compassionate and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Milton Keynes.

Contract Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience



About the Role

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities, and social-emotional challenges. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you'll help ensure every child receives the individualised support they need to thrive.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional needs

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning strategies

  • Help manage behaviour in a calm, consistent, and supportive way

  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence and confidence

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals



Requirements:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Must be available full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or care settings)

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential
