Temporary Senior Care Assistant - Milton Keynes - 13+ per hour inc holiday pay - Various shifts available
Platinum Recruitment is seeking compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistants to join a leading healthcare provider in Milton Keynes. You will play a pivotal role in supporting adults with diverse needs, including mental health conditions, dementia, and behavioural challenges, within a residential and respite setting.
An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service will be required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting a team of Care Assistants to deliver outstanding care.
- Assisting residents with all aspects of daily living, including personal care (washing, dressing, toileting), mobility support, and mealtimes.
- Administering medication in line with policies and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents, including promoting engagement in social activities.
- Monitoring, reporting, and documenting any changes in residents' health and well-being to senior management.
- Supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining high standards of care delivery.
- Promoting residents' independence, dignity, and quality of life at all times.
- Acting as a key worker for individual residents, including liaising with families and healthcare professionals.
- Upholding company policies and safeguarding practices.
- Working flexibly across various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a care home setting.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- NVQ Level 2 (or working towards Level 3) in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine compassion and commitment to high-quality care.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Experience supporting residents living with dementia and complex needs.
- Medication administration qualification or training.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and regulations.
