Based at one of our clients in Milton Keynes - a mainstream Secondary School, Supply Star Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to deliver engaging Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential). The successful candidate will foster curiosity, promote scientific thinking, and support pupils in achieving their full potential. Initially on a Supply basis however permanent positions are available after a successful trial period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support student progress and engagement

  • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly

  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and safety, especially in practical work

  • Participate in department planning, meetings, and school-wide initiatives

  • Contribute to enrichment activities and extra-curricular science clubs

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in a science-related subject

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5

  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics

  • Experience with exam boards and GCSE/A-Level specification
