Milton Keynes City Council is currently seeking a committed and experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people, working within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair multi-disciplinary meetings and collaborate with professionals across agencies to complete assessments and develop child-centred care plans.
  • Complete annual Children and Family Assessments to ensure care plans remain relevant and effective.
  • Ensure children's day-to-day care needs are met and help them understand their care journey through direct work, life story work, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 20 children, including those subject to Care Orders, Placement Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, and those Placed with Parents.
  • Maintain high standards of record-keeping and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and participating in reflective practice.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children in care, including statutory assessments and care planning.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
