We are currently seeking on behalf of our client a Stock & Finance Assistant for an ongoing temporary role, with the possibility of it going permanent. This role is working for a very fun and fast-paced company, whose Head Office is based in Milton Keynes.

The role:

Location : Milton KeynesWorking Hours : 40 hours per week, hybrid, once training has been receivedHourly Rate £16.82 per hour (Annual Salary of £35,000)Duration : 6-7 months initially, with the possibility of being extended or even Permanent

Your main duties will include:

  • Checking and posting of UK Ocean Freight and Duty Invoices, ensuring these are processed in a timely manner and accurately processing of invoices
  • Month-End UK Statement reconciliations with logistic providers to ensure accuracy in month-end statements
  • Tracking and Maintaining Records - keeping detailed records of UK ocean freight invoices and charges
  • Assist in the monthly release of UK ocean freight costs to the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement
  • Support and define stock management processes in the new system including:
    • Stock Reconciliations
    • Stock Value Reporting
    • Stock Movement Journals
    • Reviewing for Anomalies in Stock Reports (quantities and value)
    • Reviewing and Managing Shipped Not Invoiced Reports
    • Approval of Bill of Materials
  • Provide support for other areas of finance, including Purchase Ledger and General Ledger.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as delegated by the Finance Manager or CFO.

Position Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities for the role of Stock & Finance Assistant includes:

  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently
  • Sound decision-making skills and good business judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Recent experience with D365 is advantageous, and strong Excel skills are essential.
  • A desire to embrace and promote change within the organisation
  • A proactive approach and keen interest in maintaining clean ledgers
  • Knowledge of operations, import, and export processes would be beneficial
  • Commitment to adhering to all company policies and procedures
