Role Overview:
The CNC Miller Setter Operator will play an integral role within the manufacturing team, setting and operating a variety of machining centres across the facility. This position requires experience in a fast-paced precision engineering environment, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machining centres
- Carry out in-process dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measurement equipment
- Machine a wide range of metals and plastics accurately and efficiently
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and provide concise feedback to operators and engineers
- Work to production deadlines and manage multiple machines as required
- Problem-solve independently and work with a high level of autonomy
Experience and Competencies:
- Proven experience as a Setter/Operator on CNC machining centres, ideally in a precision engineering or prototype environment
- Good working knowledge of Heidenhain, Hurco, or Mazatrol controls
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proficient in using measurement tools for in-process checks
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
