Payroll Assistant - Food Manufacturing - Part-Time Temporary Contract (3-6 months)£17.00-£19.00 per hour | Hybrid Working | Milton Keynes

Macildowie are working with this client based in Milton Keynes, a £140m turnover business in the food manufacturing industry, to recruit a part-time Payroll Assistant on a 3 to 6 month temporary contract.

This role has come about to support a busy payroll function, particularly focused around month-end processing. Payroll is run monthly, so the workload intensifies around key cut-off and submission periods. If you enjoy working flexibly in a structured but friendly finance environment, this could be a great fit.

The Role:

Working closely with the payroll and wider finance team, you'll help ensure accurate and timely payroll runs. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll inputs: overtime, shift premiums, expenses
  • Supporting manual payroll entries where systems are not API-integrated
  • Reviewing and checking submissions to ADP
  • Posting payroll journals for month-end reporting
  • Providing cover and support to the team during periods of high activity

Key Skills Required:

  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing, ideally using ADP
  • Comfortable with manual processes and reviewing data for accuracy
  • Knowledge of payroll-related journal posting
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Team-focused, adaptable and proactive in communication
