MacGregor Black is proud to partner with a leading organisation in their search for a Payroll Officer to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support the Payroll Manager in delivering accurate and timely payroll services for over 500 employees. You’ll play a key role in clearing backlogs, managing day-to-day payroll operations, and ensuring staff are supported with any payroll-related queries.

This is a hands-on, hybrid role that requires precision, efficiency, and confidentiality - perfect for someone who takes pride in getting the details right.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Process payroll for around 537 employees accurately and on schedule.
  • Support the Payroll Manager with daily payroll operations and backlog management.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee and payroll records.
  • Respond to payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and internal policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous payroll experience, ideally managing 500+ employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Confident user of payroll systems and software.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive, positive, and solution-focused approach.
