Butler Rose is delighted to be partnering with a highly acquisitive, UK-centric organisation in the search for a talented Mergers & Acquisitions Manager. Our client is a market-leading business with operations nationwide and an impressive growth strategy driven by strategic acquisitions. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accountant with a strong track record in M&A to join a dynamic, forward-thinking team and make a tangible impact on the company's continued expansion.

The Role

This position offers exposure across the full deal lifecycle, managing transactions from initial engagement through to completion and post-acquisition integration. You will play a key role in deal execution, initially focusing on deals sub £1m, while supporting larger strategic acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the execution of live deals, from Heads of Terms through to legal completion.
  • Coordinating cross-functional due diligence teams including HR, finance, IT, legal and operational stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with financial analysts on the development of deal models.
  • Supporting post-deal integration in partnership with the Integration Manager.
  • Liaising with external legal advisors, negotiating deal documentation (SPA, APA, HOTs etc.).
  • Preparing investment reports and presenting findings to senior leadership.
  • Assisting with renegotiation and risk mitigation during the deal process.

Person Spec

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in corporate finance, private equity, investment banking or consulting.
  • A proven track record of executing M&A transactions.
  • Strong financial modelling and due diligence experience.
  • Familiarity with legal frameworks and compliance in M&A activity.
  • Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resilient, driven and solutions-oriented.
