MPI Requires a Temporary Buyer ( Part- Time) , for our client based in Milton Keynes

Rate:  £15.38 per hour PAYE

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6months

Working Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible working days/hours

 

An exciting opportunity for a  ‘Buyer’ to support the procurement function on a 6 month basis. The role holder will work to drive better delivery reliability, a reduction in DSI and to help implement strategic procurement strategies.

The role holder will need to be organised, structured and proactive.

Main Duties:

  • Working closely with our suppliers to ensure we have components available for the Business Unit to operate efficiently.
  • Be actively involved in meeting our procurement KPI’s (DSI, SLISC, WADPO & PPI)
  • Managing procurement orderbooks
  • Be able to make strategic decisions from a procurement perspective
  • Work closely with our planning team to ensure components and materials arrive when they are required
  • Dealing with supplier issues, working alongside the SQE to resolve issues to ensure we have a suitable supply of components
  • Be able to communicate current procurement status to the required stakeholders
  • Work with eProcurement to ensure exception messages are answered with-out delay
  • Engage in planning and execution of new projects
  • Be involved in business improvement (i.e. Lean, Kaizen etc) activities
  • Work with the team to aid Kanban Box implementation
