Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school and national expectations

Encourage critical thinking, debate, and a love of historical enquiry

Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities

Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment

Collaborate with colleagues to drive departmental and whole-school initiatives
Essential
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching History at secondary level

Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A commitment to high standards and student achievement
Desirable:

Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessments

Willingness to participate in CPD and continuous improvement

Involvement in extracurricular or enrichment activities related to History
