Job DescriptionAs part of our continued growth, we are recruiting a Special investigations Officer to investigate allegations and instances of poor conduct that increases the risk of harm to our customer with Connells Group Estate Agency and Mortgage Services businesses.This includes interviews with staff, reviewing evidence from internal systems and producing detailed reports to support compliance with regulatory standards and where required, support with disciplinary processes.The ideal candidate will have a background in financial services investigations, estate agency operations or law enforcement, although other knowledge or experience will be considered.You will be responsible for:
  • Conducting thorough investigations into misconduct that causes risk of harm to customers.
  • Interviewing relevant staff members in a professional and impartial manner.
  • Gather, review and documenting evidence from internal systems, call recordings, emails and instant messaging platforms e.g. MS Teams.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all investigative activities and engage with the People Team to support disciplinary processes.
  • Providing support to Financial Crime investigators as and when required.
  • Producing clear and concise factual investigation reports with findings, conclusions and recommendation.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders
  • Escalating serious breaches and/or misconduct in line with company procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience in investigations, compliance or audit within the financial services or estate agency sectors.
  • Strong understanding of conditional selling risk and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Competent with investigative interviewing techniques (e.g. PEACE model)
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • CIFAS Investigative Interviewing Specialist
  • Advanced Professional Certificate in Investigative Practice (APCIP)
  • Relevant professional qualifications from ICA or ACAMS.
