The Role - Teacher (SEN Specialist)

As the class Teacher, you will:

  • Lead a small group of non-verbal students with significant learning needs

  • Use AAC, PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation strategies, and structured routines
  • Work closely with therapists, SEN specialists, and experienced support staff
  • Create a nurturing, predictable environment tailored to the needs of each learner
  • Support communication, emotional development, engagement, and independence

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with SEN, especially non-verbal or PMLD students (strongly preferred)
  • A calm, patient approach with a passion for inclusive, child-centred learning
  • QTS or equivalent qualification
  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, sensory integration, and communication methods
  • Commitment to supporting pupils with autism, complex learning needs, or profound communication barriers
