A well-regarded specialist school in Milton Keynes is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and moderate to complex learning needs.

About the Role
  • Deliver personalised, inclusive teaching to students with diverse SEN profiles across Key Stages 3 and/or 4

  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning styles and EHCP targets

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, ensuring clear and consistent feedback to support development

  • Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies

  • Contribute to wider school life, including review meetings and professional development

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

  • Commitment to pupil wellbeing and positive outcomes

Desirable:

  • Experience in a specialist or alternative provision setting

  • Knowledge of EHCPs and progress tracking tools (e.g. P Levels, MAPP)

  • Team Teach or other de-escalation training

  • Confidence using AAC, sensory strategies, or assistive technologies
