This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated educator to take the next step in their teaching career. The successful candidate will lead our Physics department, championing academic excellence, innovation, and a love of learning within the sciences. As Head of Physics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the department and supporting both students and colleagues in achieving outstanding outcomes.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Physics department in delivering a high-quality, engaging, and challenging curriculum across all key stages.

  • Support and develop the Physics teaching team through mentoring, training, and collaborative planning.

  • Monitor and track student progress, implementing interventions and strategies to ensure academic success.

  • Work closely with senior leaders to drive whole-school improvement initiatives within STEM education.

  • Contribute to the wider science faculty and school community through enrichment activities and cross-curricular projects.



Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

  • Proven UK teaching experience in Physics at the secondary level.

  • Enhanced DBS check (on the update service or willing to apply).

  • Previous Head of Physics experience is highly desirable.

  • A passion for subject leadership and a strong track record of raising student achievement.
