The Opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Utilities Project Manager to join a leading consultancy supporting a major infrastructure programme. You will be working on the (EWR) Core route, coordinating multiple utility-related engagements, including the planning and phasing of diversionary works in the Tempsford area. This is a key role requiring strong coordination, stakeholder engagement, and planning capabilities across various utility providers and third-party stakeholders.
The role
You will report directly to the Utilities Programme Manager and work closely with internal design and delivery teams, as well as external bodies including NGET, Anglian Water, UKPN, Openreach, Cadent Gas, National Highways, and Network Rail.
Hybrid working model with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in Milton Keynes.
Contract Estimated Duration – 9 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Coordinate and manage engagements with multiple utility providers.
- Liaise with EWR design teams and area project managers to ensure alignment and integration of utility works.
- Establish and manage designs for utilities diversionary works.
- Develop and maintain the phasing and sequencing programme of utility works.
- Collaborate with planning teams to develop high-level logistics that align with enabling and main civils works.
- Define and monitor the critical path for utility delivery.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with key stakeholders and third-party agencies.
- Support contractual delivery of early utility services such as feasibility studies, planning, and design.
- Contribute to risk management, reporting, and escalation processes within the wider EWR Utilities Team.
You will have the following qualifications and experienceÂ
- Proven experience in utilities project management within large infrastructure programmes.
- Strong knowledge of utility sectors and associated regulations.
- Excellent coordination, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in developing and managing complex project programmes.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Mandatory:
- CDM 2015 training
- Formal project management training (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
