The Opportunity:

Welding positions available, joining one of the largest transportation overhauling and refurbishment organisations in the UK who has gone through significant change in recent years. They have implemented new change in management which led them to investing funds to train up permanent staff in huge volumes. They have invested over 7 figures upgrading site to accommodate a better working environment for their employees. Be part of a welding team where Job security is key as the company has a Huge Job order book spanning across 6 years without taking any new work on.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • MIG Welding on fleet of trains
  • Corrosion repairs
  • Butt Welds
  • Fillet Welds
  • Following engineering drawings to a high specification

The Candidate:

  • Competent welder using MIG, TIG on Mild Steel.
  • Be able to weld in a multitude of angles. (Vertical and Horizontal)
  • Competent in Butt and Fillet welds
  • Ability to hit the ground running and utilise your skillset within a wider team of technicians.
  • Must have experience welding on 2mm-6mm tolerance.

Essential:

  • Must be able to pass a Medical & Drugs and Alcohol screening prior to start.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Welding
  • MIG experience

Salary: 

£32,000 - £38,000 (Basic) depending on experience and Qualifications
Shift allowance of 12.5% on top with Overtime available

OT Rates: 1.5 times on Weekdays and Double Time on Weekends

Hours:

Shifts: 12.5 % uplift
Mon to Thurs - 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm
Fri – 6am – 11am / 11am – 4pm
OT Available (50 +-hour weeks available)
