Equine Veterinary Surgeon with lameness focus, £45k-£60k plus bonus and fully equipped vehicle. Lyndhurst. Hampshire.

Ever since you were a child you loved horses; you can’t think of a time when you didn’t.  Visiting stables, helping out just so you could grab a chance to ride them.

It was only natural then that your chosen career path involved horses, many years later you are living out your dream as an Equine vet.

Or you were, until stilly targets came in, increased paperwork, and being micro-managed resulting in less time spent with the patient.

You want to be ‘On the tools,’ it's what you enjoy the most, helping, advising, and being the best vet you can be.

You are becoming disillusioned, looking for a change but don’t want more of the same.

What if we knew of a practice on the edge of the beautiful New Forest, a modern independent practice owned and run by a vet where you can work with like-minded individuals, build lasting relationships with your customers, and give the best possible care you can?

Luckily, we do and this one is hiring.

This modern practice is hiring for growth. Ideally, they are looking for a vet with over two years of experience. A kind empathetic vet, a real team player who has minimum of 5 years’ experience with a particular interest in lameness. Lameness is their biggest growth area so you will help spearhead this service.

This is a practice that won “Equine Veterinary Practice of the Year,” an award nominated by their clients!

This practice has a real ‘family feel,’ about it where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time.  A strong team that wants the best for their patients and the practice.   Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly and ideas are encouraged.

Being an ambulatory practice, they provide their clients with the wonderful benefit of being able to bring the very best specialists to their yards. They work closely with a visiting cardiologist, ophthalmologist, remedial farrier, two visiting surgeons, and a visiting advanced dental expert.

Cases are referred rarely. They can boast extraordinary levels of kit with every vet carrying their own X-ray system, ultrasound unit and as much dental kit as you could ever want with them at all times.

Client continuity is at the heart of what they do, so you will own your cases seeing them through from start to finish. Clients are encouraged to ask to see "their" vet in the practice even for routine calls.

The role can FT role or PT, a minimum of 3 days a week is required.  The rota is 1:4 with a day off in lieu after your weekend on duty. No routine visits after 4.30 pm and non-urgent calls after 3 pm on Friday, the whole team downs tools, has a drink, and some nibbles starting the weekend early!

So, what’s in it for you? £45-60k DOE, fully equipped work vehicle, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, VDS, BEVA and RCVS fees paid for, medical insurance, plus pension. A very generous bonus scheme is in place where vets can earn up to a 1/3 of their salary on a monthly basis.  They are keen on developing their vets so a generous CPD allowance will take care of that.

Based in the pretty village of Minstead, there is a community shop and a traditional pub.  Located 15 minutes from the coast, the Isle of Wight on your doorstep, the New Forest with its cycling, hiking, and every type of water sport available, what’s not to like?

So, what’s next?

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell. Please ignore the old website, their new one is under construction. Check out their Facebook page for a feel of who they are.

Enjoy being a vet again at a practice that cares.
