My client is seeking three committed and enthusiastic Special Needs Classroom Assistants to join their dedicated team at a specialist school for pupils aged 4-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with significant additional needs.
About the Role:
* Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs in both classroom and personal care settings
* Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
* Use a range of communication strategies and sensory approaches to engage and support pupils
* Assist with mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene needs as required
* Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing, and social development
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting individuals with special needs (professional or personal)
* A patient, calm, and resilient approach
* Willingness to assist with personal care and physical support
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* A strong commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
* Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
* Experience in an SEN school or care setting
* Familiarity with sensory integration, PECS, Makaton, or other relevant approaches
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care)
