ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is looking for an inspiring and committed SEN Teacher for a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry Primary School in Mitcham, Merton. The school is well-established and highly regarded within the community for its nurturing ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to inclusive education. The school offers an engaging curriculum, specialist support for pupils with additional needs, and excellent professional development opportunities. This position is open to qualified and experienced teachers with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. Depending on performance, there is a view to extend the contract or offer a permanent position.
CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
Location: Mitcham, Merton
Position: SEN Teacher - Primary
Type of Work: Class-based and small group teaching, planning, assessment, and progress tracking for pupils with additional needs
Start Date: 5th January 2026
End Date: July 2026, with a view to extend
Contract Type: Temporary
Full time/part time: Full Time
Minimum Rate of Pay: From GBP195 per day (depending on experience and MPS)
Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Minimum 1 years teaching experience within a Primary or SEN setting
Sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and strategies for supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, and EAL
Proven ability to differentiate planning and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (within the last year)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Provide two recent professional references covering the last two years
