Mechanical Maintenance EngineerLocation: MordenSalary: £41,500 + London weightingHours: 6am – 2pm, Monday to FridayWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a global leader in industrial, medical, and specialist gas solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is confident leading day-to-day maintenance activities while overseeing one direct report.About the Role:You will be part of a dedicated maintenance team, taking responsibility for the safe, efficient operation of all mechanical equipment on site.Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, testing, and new equipment installations
  • Using SAP to manage Planned Maintenance schedules and monitor performance
  • Maintaining safe working practices through the Permit to Work system
  • Allocating and supervising daily work tasks for one team member
  • Coordinating with third-party contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and timely completion of work
  • Keeping accurate records for all maintenance, repairs, safety inspections, and installations
  • Overseeing civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work within the maintenance scope
What We’re Looking For:
  • Level 4 Apprenticeship or equivalent trade experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • ATEX awareness and ability to work safely in potentially explosive environments
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or scientific setting
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Effective communicator with team leadership capability
  • Comfortable with MS Office and SAP systems
