Long Term Futures is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to integrate into a supportive and thriving primary school setting in the Merton area.
This pivotal support role involves specialising in the academic, social, and emotional progress of young pupils, primarily within Early Years (EYFS) or Key Stage 1 (KS1). We are dedicated to placing our candidates in stable, long-term roles which often provide a smooth transition to permanent school contracts. To simplify the recruitment process, we frequently facilitate paid trial days instead of traditional interviews, ensuring the position is an ideal match for both you and the school.
Key Responsibilities
Provide essential in-class support and small group assistance.
Actively encourage positive behaviour and key socialisation skills, especially during play-based learning.
Contribute effectively to boosting pupil self-belief and enthusiasm for learning in the early stages.
Engage in a collaborative partnership with the class teacher on lesson preparation and monitoring pupil development.
Essential Requirements
Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar support role is required.
A proven background of working specifically within Early Years Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1.
Possesses a naturally nurturing and patient approach when supporting primary-aged pupils.
An excellent ability to establish strong connections with children, staff, and parents.
