We are currently seeking a dynamic History Teacher to join a school in Lancaster on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative History lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to inspire and motivate students.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 is a plus.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating the qualities of a good role model such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
