Compliance Assistant & Internal Auditor
Location: Motherwell
Salary: Up to £31,000 (Depending on experience)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–4pm
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Assistant & Internal Auditor to join a well-established and forward-thinking organisation within the construction and engineering sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on attention to detail, enjoys working across teams, and has a solid grounding in ISO standards and integrated management systems.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a range of industry certifications, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving continual improvement across the business. The role requires effective coordination of audits, strong documentation skills, and a proactive mindset when it comes to improving internal systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
- Maintain industry certifications such as CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, and others
- Plan and conduct internal audits across business functions and project sites
- Analyse audit outcomes, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement
- Produce clear, structured audit reports for stakeholders
- Collaborate with departments to develop and refine policies, procedures, and forms
- Lead management reviews in alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation
- Oversee compliance registers, including legal and environmental aspects
- Complete and submit client pre-qualification documentation in a timely manner
- Support external audit preparation and respond to auditor enquiries confidently
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Internal Auditor (IRCA-approved) in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
- Experience managing integrated management systems and external audits
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to manage documentation across multiple platforms
- Strong communication and analytical abilities
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
- Construction industry experience is advantageous
