Site Manager – Civil Engineering (Water Sector)
Location: Central Scotland (with travel throughout Scotland)

Our client, a family-owned specialist engineering contractor, is looking to expand its team with the addition of an experienced Site Manager based in Central Scotland, working on projects across Scotland.

Operating within the Scottish Water Framework, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of pipeline works, overseeing projects from inception through to completion. This is a key role within a major, long-term framework and critical to its successful delivery.

As Site Manager, you will lead projects primarily across Central Scotland and play a pivotal part in strengthening the company’s presence in the region. You will focus on maintaining existing relationships and expanding project reach, contributing to business growth. Ideally, you will have a background in the water sector, with a strong track record in delivering a range of civil engineering schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily site operations and manage operatives and subcontractors to ensure consistently high standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with all company health and safety procedures.
  • Provide leadership, support and guidance to site teams.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships both on-site and off-site.
  • Manage site logistics to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
  • Manage project challenges and ensure accurate setting-out.
  • Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost efficiency.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree or HNC level in a relevant civil engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience managing civil engineering projects, ideally within the water sector.
  • Previous involvement in water pipeline projects is advantageous.
  • DOMS certification preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding of all civil site activities.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Full UK driving licence.
