Quality Inspector/H&S Representative - Engineering | Lanarkshire

An established global leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of equipment is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector/H&S Representative to join their team in Lanarkshire.

With over 50 years of industry experience, the company supports advanced thermal processing technology used in critical applications worldwide. As part of a larger international group, they deliver high-quality engineering solutions on a global scale and are ISO 9001 certified.

About the Role:
This is a hands-on quality inspection role covering both vendor and in-house manufacturing operations. The role will involve inspecting incoming goods, in-process inspections on the shop floor, and supporting quality activities across the vendor base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of incoming engineering components and fabricated parts

  • Reviewing weldments and machined items in materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and industrial plastics

  • Conducting in-process inspections to ensure assemblies meet drawing specifications and quality standards

  • Using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and verniers

  • Verifying dimensions, surface finish, and completeness of assemblies.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Health & Safety operations, ensuring full compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to manage and maintain the annual H&S planner, ensuring all scheduled activities are completed within agreed timelines and involving relevant departments as necessary.

  • Take ownership of promoting and continuously enhancing the company's Health & Safety culture and performance.

What You'll Need:

  • Previous experience in a quality inspection role within an engineering or manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances

  • Proficiency with common inspection tools and equipment

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15

  • Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
