Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering (Permanent)

Our client, a well-established regional civil engineering contractor specialising in road surfacing and groundworks, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the West of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out monthly cost value reconciliations.
• Ensure valuations are maximised, certified, and paid on time.
• Manage any contract variations promptly and accurately.
• Prepare cost and value forecasts for all trades.
• Collaborate with the operations team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring contracts are delivered on time and within budget.
• Monitor on-site progress and take the lead in issuing required notices in line with contractual procedures and timescales.
• Carefully review all quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and secure the most competitive rates.
• Prepare and agree Final Accounts.
• Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to enhance contract performance.

Candidate Profile:

You should be methodical, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the following:

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2–3 years’ proven experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering projects; experience in surfacing is desirable.
• Strong knowledge and experience of NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract is essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
