We are looking for:
A motivated and dedicated General Operative/QA to prepare and pack product to customer standards and support the Food Safety & Quality manager and site teams to ensure that appropriate policies, process checks & controls are maintained and upheld across the business.
The Position:
- Blow, trim, peel, bag and pack onions and other product as guided by your Line Manager and as per the Company Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure that the product that we pack for our customers is of the expected quality and that packaging is checked and not damaged
- Report any issues with machinery, product quality or packaging issues to your Line Manager
- Adhere to the rules and procedures for the process room and peeling room as laid down in the Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures
- Work in a clean and tidy manner and operate a clean as you go policy following all hygiene and dress codes for the factory
- When cleaning in the factory, always ensure that you follow the procedures for safe cleaning and only use cleaning chemicals if training has been provided to do so
- Understand and follow the sharp metal implements procedures
- Follow operation instructions given If your role involves operating machinery
- Provide QA cover as required across the shifts in the case of absence or holiday
- Champion food safety, legality, authenticity and quality across Goldwood facility
- Inspect the quality of raw material, working processes and finished product against customer specifications
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records related to quality control, inspections, and audits
- Support the food safety & quality manager to ensure clear, concise policies, procedures and SOP’s are provided to the QA functions
- Ensure that the company required product and process testing (shelf life, swab testing, product sampling & testing) are complied with
- Conduct process and hygiene inspections and checks across the site to ensure that the company policies, procedures and standards are being maintained
- Ensure any product or process test fails are thoroughly investigated with robust root cause investigation and implement corrective actions
The perfect person will have:
- Previous QA experience in the food industry is essential
- Excellent communication skills; ability to interact with all levels within the business
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organised and thorough with attention to detail
- Friendly and approachable
