Our client based in Nelson is looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator on a permanent basis, the client is a well-respected manufacturer and are looking for candidates with experience on Amada or Trumpf Press Brakes.

The Job

  • Operating and setting press brakes (Trumpf)
  • Reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings
  • Responsible for operating machinery used to bend and shape metal sheets into various forms requiring high precision and accuracy
  • Identify and solve problems before folding operations commence
  • Identify any order shortages before folding operations commence and inform the Leading Hand.
  • Suggest improvements to the production process and procedure to maintain the highest standards of quality for both our external customers and internal companies.
  • Monitor the safe use of all machines and tooling within the folding section and report any machine issues, breakdowns, tooling damage or any other issues likely to impact productivity or the safety of team members to the Leading

About you

  • As the Press Brake Operator you must be able to read, understand and fully interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in setting and operating Trumpf / Bystronic / press brakes.
  • Good experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to understand CNC programmes.
  • Ability to lift products up to a maximum 25kg unaided.
  • Able to communicate effectively face to face.
