Our client, a well-established and reputable commercial vehicle workshop, is seeking a talented HGV/Van Technicians / HGV Mechanics / HGV Fitter to join their team.

The Job

  • Diagnose, Repair and maintain a wide range of vehicles to DVSA standards always achieving a first-time fix.
  • Prepare and present vehicles for their annual MOT tests, minimising failures to achieve a 100% pass rate.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns to effect repairs at roadside where possible. This will also be on a rota for out of hours coverage.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all health and safety, environmental and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tidy to comply with our company standards and manufacturer standards.
  • Ensure all failed parts are returned to the relevant department.
  • Carry out ad-hoc duties when required.

About you

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter is essential.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Be apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
  • Hold a full UK driving licence /Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
