School Site Manager - Neston area, Wirral - Facilities, Health & Safety

Hours: 30 hours, split shift (local commuters preferred)

Start: January 2026

Salary: 100 - 120/day (term time only)

Are you a reliable, hands-on facilities professional looking for a flexible, part-time role that makes a real difference? Academics is seeking a dedicated School Site Manager for a primary school in the Neston area: a key role to keep the buildings, grounds and safety systems running smoothly.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and manage maintenance of buildings, grounds, and general site facilities, including repairs, decorating, basic plumbing, joinery and grounds maintenance.
  • Act as key-holder: open and close the site; manage contractors; monitor water temperatures; carry out fire-alarm/fire-safety checks; perform risk assessments and update records digitally.
  • Assist with site traffic control, snow clearance or gritting when needed, and other general safety and maintenance tasks.
  • Support overall Health & Safety compliance and record-keeping.
  • Liaise with outside contractors, handle scheduling of maintenance/inspection checks, and ensure timely repairs and upkeep.

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have a strong level of literacy and numeracy; experience with report writing, inspections or safety checks is desirable.
  • Are comfortable working independently, able to manage your time reliably and flexibly - this role may involve split shifts.
  • Have basic skills in plumbing/joinery/DIY, and a willingness to carry out general maintenance tasks.
  • Have a working knowledge of digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office) for logging maintenance, risk assessments and reporting.
  • Are dependable, organised and committed to the safe, effective upkeep of a busy school environment.
  • Have a H&S qualification (desirable)
  • Have a DBS Enhanced Certificate (or are willing to get one) (required)
  • Commutable to Neston area
